Sabrina A. - (Owner) CEO
Sabrina has 13 years experience in case management and medical insurance. She holds a Bachelors degree in Social Work and CADC-I. Sabrina’s background includes work with the autistic population and adolescents that suffer with both developmental disabilities as well as substance abuse issues. Having a strong background in both clinical and administrative roles, Sabrina is able to approach each individual from a place of compassion, professionalism, fluidity and objectivity. Sabrina has a passion for helping others as a result of direct impact from drug addiction and overdose. After the death of a close friend, she dedicated her life to helping others find solace in sobriety. As the CEO and owner of The Giving Tree, she enjoys the dedication of her team and the shared commitment to help clients begin a future free of addiction.
Sina M. - Group Facilitator
Sina is an experienced group facilitator, working towards a CADC-I. He finds fulfillment in giving back to others in and outside of the detox facility. Sina believes that every addict deserves an opportunity to achieve their goals with positive reinforcement and continual support. He has the ability to converse with many struggling individuals and meet them at their level.
Anthony M. - Group Facilitator
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Anthony has worked in the field of addiction for three years. He is a former EMT for the Los Angeles County Fire Department and received two commendations while working in that capacity, and worked as a live-in medical support staff for developmentally disabled adults. After his own experience with tragedy, loss, and addiction, Anthony became resolved to save lives in a different way: helping to provide guidance and support for those that are suffering from addiction and mental health disorders. He received his Substance Abuse Counseling Certification from UCLA and Associates in Behavioral and Social Sciences through SMC, both with honors . Anthony focuses on cultivating strong coping and re-framing skills drawing from not only the evidence-based practices in the field of addiction but by also tying them into the different "wisdom" traditions of the world's major religious and philosophical traditions.
Sara J. - L.V.N.
Sara has spent almost 20 years in the medical field. Her journey within the field of addiction began in 2010 with adolescents. Sara saw a need in working with a adults suffering from addiction when seeing how adults also lack the necessary support and accountability. Many of which are due to childhood abandonment and neglect. Sara dedicates her time, at work, to client’s health related needs, but also strives to help with their general well-being.
Bruce Stark, M.D.- Doctor of Internal Medicine -
Dr. Bruce Stark has approximately 20 years of experience in the medical field. He holds his degree in Internal Medicine from UC-San Francisco, with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology from UC-Santa Barbara. Previously, Dr. Stark was the Medical Director for Sober College, and now maintains a presence in the field of addiction with his private practice. Clients can expect to visit him, at his private practice, with a face-to-face, comprehensive health assessment. Dr. Stark believes in a holistic, compassionate approach to addiction treatment. His professional experience continues to provide relief for those undergoing the detox process.
Ginger - Reiki Healer
After studying in India over the years, taking many initiations with her Guru, Ginger loves to share the experience of meditation with others. With very little effort we can reach a space of calm centeredness. Ginger feels the path of meditation is key for bringing health and success in all dimensions of life. Clients have the opportunity to participate in Reiki and other Holistic practices on a weekly basis.
Jennifer Sindell - Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Jennifer Sindell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Lic. No. LCSW86433) experienced in working with adults, adolescents and children. Jennifer offers a warm, safe and trusting space to encourage healing, processing and creating new experiences. She believes everyone can live a meaningful and enjoyable life, and is very excited to work with The Giving Tree Treatment Center to help make that happen!
